Working with Disorganized Attachment (with CE)

Disorganized attachment can leave even seasoned clinicians feeling confused, overwhelmed, or subtly pulled out of their therapeutic stance. Clients may move rapidly between closeness and withdrawal, regulation and chaos—often creating uncertainty about boundaries, accountability, and what actually helps.

This training reframes disorganized attachment as a trauma-based relational injury rather than a personality problem. You’ll learn to recognize the internal logic driving these patterns, understand why common interventions escalate rather than stabilize, and work within the attachment system instead of against it.

The course offers a clear clinical framework for identifying attachment needs, triggers, flooding, and withdrawal—and shows how to use the therapeutic relationship itself to restore regulation, build agency, and support repair. Learn how to offer containment without abandonment, boundaries without disconnection, and accountability that strengthens rather than destabilizes.

When you understand what disorganized attachment is protecting, the work stops feeling chaotic—and real change becomes possible.
