Mariam is passionate about helping couples who feel emotionally disconnected from each other in their marriages and find themselves living in hurt and tension, not knowing how to deal with addictions, trauma, history of affairs, and struggling to communicate. In addition, Mariam enjoys working with women (married and single) who feel stuck with where they are at in life, and are experiencing anxiety, life transitions, depression, trauma, relationship strains, spiritual crisis and other life issues. She also does pre-engagement and pre-marital counseling.
Mariam additionally leads weekend marriage workshops based on curriculum from Created for Connection, by Dr. Sue Johnson and Kenneth Sanderfer. These marriage workshops offer couples the opportunity to take intentional time over the course of a weekend to reconnect and have meaningful conversations. In her free time, Mariam enjoys spending time with her family, cooking up a new-found recipe, reading, walking, and getting together with friends. She is actively involved in a Nashville church plant where she serves in a variety of ministries. Mariam is certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and has training in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, as well as trauma therapy (EMDR Levels 1 and 2). Her office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am - 5pm at Christ Community Church in Franklin."
